The project is aimed to build-up a University Network on Sport in Western Balkans, and design joint actions, in line with the European context and EU recommendations, to promote an active lifestyle in the population, and contribute to community life and sustainable development in the Region. To this effect, the project aims to train sport professionals qualified in specific sport fields as applied to the different needs, and promote personal health, as well as common values such as inclusion, equality, safety, or environmental awareness, thereby contributing to community life and to a peaceful social development.
Project coordination, involving cross-cutting management, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting activities, will basically include the following steps and related activities:
Design and launch of a program of sport activities promoted in all HEIs and on the territory, aiming to a WB participation to the European Week of Sport, with local specificities and a common design, meant to support the project’s general objectives and to serve as basis for future developments. The WP will basically consist of the following activities:
A Digital Ecosystem will be established by UBT with its specific competences, in constant cooperation with EU and other partners, to support teaching and other activities with a wide range of possibilities, including attending in presence or online, having access to past lectures, to study materials and integrative information on the study subjects, to field experiences, etc. The establishment of the Digital Ecosystem will basically include the following steps and activities:
The social picture in WB countries will be discussed, considering sport education curricula and possible adaptations to better meet modern standards and respond to social needs, the job market, and the qualifications required, aiming to ensure better employment prospects, and contribute to community and social development in line with the EU context. To this effect, and to acquire a better picture of regional contexts and needs, the following activities will be conducted:
Seminars will be offered covering main areas related to sport activities as applied to personal and social health, with a focus on Erasmus “overarching priorities” in community building and social development. The following groups of seminars will be planned on the main areas of application of physical activities:
A wider educational program will be launched to train experts in main areas, offering in the third year an Advanced Study Program (60 ECTS) with various profiles (Majors), designed to allow a specialistic approach to the various health or social needs.
